For oil transfer from an FPSO (Floating Production Storage and Offloading Unit) to a tanker there is always a flexible rubber hose used. To save room on the FPSO and to prevent the hoses from getting damaged, there oftentimes is a large reel on board where they can coil the hoses on.
EMSTEC's first oil hose job in 2008 was for exactly this kind of application and it turned out quite successful.
The task back then was to certify the hoses according to the existing regulations OCIMF Guide to Purchasing, Manufacturing and Testing of Loading and Discharges Hoses for Offshore Moorings (Fourth edition - 1991).
Since then, we were able to certify all hose types and sizes to the old regulations and also also to the current one (Guide to Manufacturing and Purchasing Hoses for Offshore Mooring, GMPHOM 2009).
